Here's a sneak peek at WCM'S 2015 Season & Summer Music Festival: Persistence of Vision. WCM Artistic Co-Director Andrew Waggoner will offer a guided tour of the upcoming season, putting all of the music in context through demystifying analysis, discussion, and performance. Featuring excerpts from works by Gabriel Fauré and resident composer John Corigliano, along with a sampling of film (and film music), and in­ the ­moment improvisation, with live performance from the Artistic Co-Directors Waggoner on violin, and Caroline Stinson, cello. The Festival musicians bring the barn to the market ‐ the Farmer’s Market, that is ‐ for a few tempting tastes of music from the afternoon concert later on of Beethoven, Dylan (arranged by Waggoner), Ibert and Rosetti, with a dash of improv in the mix. Performing are the wind quintet with flutist Judith Pearce, oboist Matt Sullivan, clarinetist Pascal Archer, French hornist Adam Schommer and bassoonist Gina Cuffari, and violinist Andrew Waggoner and cellist Caroline Stinson, WCM’s Artistic Co‐directors. Annual Benefit: Nuit d’été – Summer’s Eve

Join us for a wonderful evening of music and dinner at a private farm in Bethel, NY.  This event is always one of the highlights of our WCM season. Arrive at 4:00 to enjoy the grounds of this private country home, have a glass of wine and mingle as people arrive for the concert and dinner. The afternoon chamber music concert starts about 4:30 pm, with informal discussion and classical music in a rustic barn on the property. Dining al fresco with the musicians follows the concert and offers a veritable feast of choices from salmon mousse to a variety of quiches; breads with hummus and assorted tapenades; a huge range of salads; main courses of ratatouille, chicken and ham and more! And, of course as one would expect from our wonderful German hosts, we’ll look forward to authentic desserts like an Austrian apple tart and crumble, flourless and carrot cakes, all served with coffee and tea. Reservations disappear as quickly as the delicious, freshly prepared menu for this popular annual event, so be sure to reserve early!
